Welcome to Jarvis Street Baptist Church

Jarvis Street Baptist Church exists by divine favour for the specific objectives of exalting God in worship, witnessing to His saving grace, caring for the needs of those in our community and farther afield as the Lord enables, and mutually encouraging one another in Christian fellowship.

We delight in the sixty-six books which compose Scripture as God’s inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word to mankind. As such, it possesses the supreme and final authority to define both belief and behaviour. God’s Word represents our “meat and drink” and its faithful exposition occupies an integral role in sincere, reverential, and joyful worship. Similarly, JSBC subscribes to the “five solas” which evangelical Christians have cherished throughout the centuries:  Sola Gratia (grace alone); Sola Christo (Christ alone); Sola Fide (faith alone); Sola Scriptura (Scripture alone); and Soli Deo Gloria (to God alone be glory).

The Statement of Faith provides an additional outline of the Church’s understanding of the essential truths of Scripture.

Regardless of your age, background, or socio-economic status, JSBC welcomes you. If you do not yet enjoy a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, we would deem it a privilege to share with you the exhilarating Gospel message of salvation. On the other hand, if you are a believer seeking a Church fellowship to make your own or simply visiting the city on business or leisure, please consider joining us for worship this Sunday at 11:00 am or 6:30 pm.
