Abstract:

"This sermon explores three closely related themes from 1 Corinthians 2:6-16: the wisdom of God, the revelation of God, and the Spirit of God. God’s wisdom was hidden from human discovery, yet decreed before the ages for the glory of His people. Because this wisdom lies beyond the reach of fallen humanity, God must make it known through divine revelation. The Holy Spirit, who searches even the depths of God, faithfully communicates this wisdom and enables believers to receive what the natural person rejects as foolishness. At the center of the passage stands Jesus Christ, crucified and risen. He is the wisdom and power of God, the culmination of divine revelation, and the Lord of glory whom the Spirit opens our eyes to behold."
